April and Josh’s Black Beach Anniversary
A story that led to this session
I did the model call and April reached out to me to let me know that she and her husband were interested to model for my content day. April informed me that my content day will fall on her anniversary weekend, so it was amazing to have them modeling on their anniversary for my content day to making it a “romantic coastal anniversary session” for them!
Why I love the Black Beach and North Shore for anniversary
When I tell you I’m fully obsessed with the North Shore and all the magic it has to offer. In the morning, you can go deep into the woods of Tettegouche State Park to explore the waterfalls. In the afternoon, you can hang out on the black beach! These locations are 10 minutes away from each other, although I definitely recommend going over to my guide to the Best Locations to Elope in Northern Minnesota to get a head start.
About Black Beach
Black Beach a.k.a. Onyx Beach is the only black sandy beach in North Shore, Minnesota. This beach is ADA accessible and even allows leashed dogs. It is 1 hour and 10 minutes by car from Duluth.
You will get beautiful cliff views, tons of green trees (and the amazing colors in the fall), and so the wildflowers in the spring and summer. Surely, a perfect beach for a great and easily accessible for a romantic coastal anniversary if you’re looking to be by the beach and in the trees!
